Real talk
If you have read Jessa Kane before, you know exactly what you are signing up for — short, no-fluff, straight to the feelings and the steam. Hefty is classic Kane: Zach is the kind of big, devoted, completely obsessed hero she writes so well, and the best-friend’s-sibling setup does exactly what it promises. Do not go in expecting a slow burn or a complex plot. Go in expecting to finish it in one sitting with a smile on your face, which is honestly what it is there for.
Fair warning: I read predominantly dark romance, so my spice bar is set fairly high. For me Hefty landed at a solid three chillies — it is steamy, but it is high school steam rather than the darker stuff I usually gravitate toward. If you are newer to spicy romance or want something that is warm rather than scorching, you will probably rate this higher.

If you need a book you can start and finish in one sitting, Hefty delivers exactly what it promises. Zach is sweet, devoted and completely obsessed in the very best Jessa Kane way, and the size-difference dynamic hits every time. Just know that the spice level depends a lot on what you usually read — for me it landed at a warm three chillies, but if you are newer to spicy romance this will feel like considerably more than that.
